Carlton’s story
Carlton James Williams, 63, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024. Born on September 17, 1960, in Washington, D.C., Carlton was the beloved son of Marvin and Barbara Williams and the fourth of five children. After graduating from McKinley Technical High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal before receiving an honorable discharge in 1981.
Carlton built a diverse and successful career, most notably as a respected territory manager with Valor Roofing, where he was admired for his leadership, integrity, and mentorship. He also pursued his love for the arts, performing in theater and on screen, and shared his lifelong passion for tennis by serving as the assistant tennis coach at Laurel High School alongside his wife, Annette.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Annette Williams; children, Tyiece, Langston, and Jameson; mother, Barbara Williams; siblings, Eric, Jeri, Marilyn, and Chelbe; grandchildren, Kristin, Nicholas, Vernon, and Carmel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Williams.
Carlton lived a life of service, creativity, and love. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, commitment to family, and the positive impact he left on all who knew him.
