17th Raise The Roof
Honoring US Air Force (Ret.) MSGT Edward Holloway

As a part of the Valor Home, Operation: Raise the Roof program we will be honoring Air Force (Ret.), MSGT Edward Holloway for his dedication and service to our country. Operation: Raise the Roof will provide a new roof to Mr. Holloway on this day.

“This will be our 17th event for a worthy Veteran. When I read through the submission for MSGT Holloway, I was taken aback by the sheer amount of history and prestige that went along with his service. To serve your country is an amazing feat, but to serve under several U.S. Presidents is truly awe-inspiring,” said Al Kincaid, Co-Founder of Valor Home.

MSGT Holloway’s service started on January 29, 1968 as Photographic Support in Vietnam. Shortly after, in 1972, he became a Photo Instructor. Through 1975-1989, MSGT Holloway served in the White House Photography Lab under President Ford, Carter and Reagan. After his dedicated service at the White House, MSGT Holloway honorably retired on July 31, 1989.

MSGT Holloway has earned countless awards for his service, including:

  • Service Medal
  • Navy Presidential unit citation
  • Meritorious unit award
  • Air Force outstanding unit award with 1 oak leaf cluster
  • Air Force good conduct medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster
  • National defense service medal
  • Air Force longevity service award ribbon with 4 oak leaf clusters
  • Noncommissioned officer professional military education graduate ribbon with 1 oak leaf cluster
  • Small arms expert marksmanship ribbon (rifle)
  • Air Force Training ribbon

Operation Raise the Roof was created by Valor Home to give back to service-disabled veterans in need of support.

Operation Raise the Roof now stands alone as a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization. While we believe all Veterans deserve a sturdy roof over their head, we focus on the most needing Veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam Wars as well as the families of fallen service members thru our partnership with American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.
