17th Raise The Roof
Honoring US Air Force (Ret.) MSGT Edward Holloway

As a part of the Valor Home, Operation: Raise the Roof program, we will be honoring, Air Force (Ret.), MSGT Edward Holloway for his dedication and service to our country. Operation: Raise the Roof will provide a new roof to Mr. Holloway on this day.

“This will be our 17th event for a worthy Veteran. When I read through the submission for MSGT Holloway, I was taken aback by the sheer amount of history and prestige that went along with his service. To serve your country is an amazing feat, but to serve under several U.S. Presidents is truly aweinspiring” said, Al Kincaid, Co-Founder of Valor Home.

MSGT Holloway’s service started on 29JAN68 as Photographic Support in Vietnam, shortly after in 1972, he became a Photo Instructor. Through 1975-1989, MSGT Holloway served in the White House Photography Lab under President Ford, Carter and Reagan. After his dedicated service at the White House, MSGT Holloway honorably retired on 31JUL89.

Awards: Service Medal, Navy Presidential unit citation, meritorious unit award, Air Force outstanding unit award with 1 oak leaf cluster, Air Force good conduct medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster, national defense service medal, Air Force longevity service award ribbon with 4 oak leaf clusters, noncommissioned officer professional military education graduate ribbon with 1 oak leaf cluster, small arms expert marksmanship ribbon (rifle), Air Force Training ribbon.

Raise the Roof was created by Valor Home to give back to service disabled veterans in need. Veteran recipients are nominated by their community through the Valor Home website. With hundreds of applications to choose from, Valor Home selects four veterans a year, one per quarter, to receive a new roof. In less than three years, the program has donated 16 roofs, a value of $160,000. Through our partnerships with Operation Second Chance, Flags of Valor, DeWALT, Mission BBQ, and our radio/ television partners, we are able to make these events transformational and memorable.
