Valor Home’s Longstanding Connection to Baysox Baseball
Long before Brian Bauer (pictured above) became one of the owners of Valor Home, he was part of the energy inside Prince George’s Stadium. Fresh out of Towson University, Brian worked with the team then known as the Bowie Baysox, helping create the in-game moments that made the ballpark feel exciting, welcoming, and memorable for families across the Delmarva area. For him, the stadium was more than a place to watch baseball. It was one of the first places he saw how community, entertainment, and local partnerships could come together.
Now known as the Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles remains a fixture of the local sports community in Bowie, MD. So when Valor Home signed on to sponsor Military Appreciation Night, it was a meaningful return to a place that had shaped one of its owners years earlier.
A Night of Baseball, Recognition, and Community
This year’s Military Appreciation Night brought together baseball fans, local families, veterans, active-duty military members, and community supporters for an evening centered on gratitude. Throughout the game, the Baysox honored members of the United States Armed Forces through military tributes and themed moments, and players and coaches wore specially designed military-themed jerseys, creating a visible tribute on the field.
The night also made room for the whole family, with Kids Run the Bases for children 12 and under and a post-game fireworks show sponsored by Valor Roofing, all while keeping the focus on those who have served.
Why the Night Matters to Valor Home
As a veteran-owned roofing company, Valor Home has always placed military support at the center of its community involvement, a commitment reflected not only in the work it does for homeowners but in the causes and local events it chooses to back. Military Appreciation Night was a natural fit, giving the company a chance to honor active-duty service members, veterans, and military families in a setting that already means so much to its leadership. More than putting a name on a game night, it was about standing behind the people and families who have served, and it tied Brian’s early history with the Baysox to Valor Home’s larger mission of service, gratitude, and giving back.
Supporting Operation Raise the Roof
That mission came into focus after the final out, when the player-worn jerseys were auctioned to benefit Operation Raise the Roof, a program that provides roofing assistance for wounded veterans and veterans facing difficult circumstances. As one of the program’s major contributors, Valor Home helped turn the evening into real, lasting support. Fans weren’t only attending a baseball game. They were helping provide safe, reliable roofing for veterans who need it, a cause that aligns closely with everything the company stands for.
Continuing a Meaningful Local Partnership
As Valor Home continues to grow, it remains committed to serving homeowners with integrity while giving back to the people and communities that have shaped its story.
